You will find dishwasher tablets under the sink along with cloths etc for your stay. The dishwasher has an extremely high efficiency rating and, as such, we encourage guests to make use of this. The pans are non-stick and designed so they can be used with no fat/oil if preferred. Ceramic glass hob ---------------- * Place pans before switching the cooking zone on. * When possible position lids firmly. * The base of the pan should be the same size as the cooking zone. * To operate the touch control sensors touch the desired panel with the tip of your pointed finger until the relevant displays illuminate or go out, or until the desired function is activated. * To switch on touch the lock sensor for 3 secs approx. The appliance is switched on using the on/off control sensor. You then need to select a heat setting within ten secs approx otherwise the appliance will switch itself off for safety reasons. * To set and adjust the power level (from 1 to 9) touch the corresponding cooking zone’s plus or minus keys. * To switch the appliance off use the on/off control sensor. * Touch the lock sensor for three secs until an acoustic confirmation sounds to set child lock. L will appear in the displays indicating the child safety lock has been activated. * To switch the child-lock off touch the lock sensor for 3 seconds and a noise will sound. * Wipe clean with a damp cloth only. * Residual heat indicator. When an individual cooking zone or the hob is turned off the presence of residual heat is shown with an H for hot. You can use this for thawing or keeping food warm. Oven --- * Turn the dial to the desired function i.e. to the fan symbol. * Turn the other dial to the desired temperature. Microwave -------- * After six minutes the microwave will automatically enter standby mode, it will then show the clock (if set) if not it will show “.” and the Start Protection/Child lock icon. To exit standby mode simply open the door. * Jet Start - This allows to start the microwave at maximum power for 30 seconds simply by pressing the Jet Start button. This is recommended for reheating food. * To pause cooking open the door. The setting will be maintained for 5 minutes. To continue cooking close the door and press the ok/jet start button. The cooking will resume from where paused. If you don’t want to continue cooking you can remove the food, close the door and press the stop button. * When finished the microwave will show, “end”, and there will be a beep once a minute for ten minutes. * **Microwave** - Press the microwave button (the one with wiggly waves). - The max power (800 watts) will be shown on the display and the watts icon starts blinking. - Rotate the knob to adjust the power value then press OK/Jet start button. Alternately you can adjust the power value by pressing repeatedly the microwave button, then pressing ok/Jet start button. - The display will show the default cooking time (30 secs), rotate the knob to adjust the cooking time. Press OK/jet start to start cooking. * **Grill** - Use to brown foods - Press the Grill button (the one that looks like one line of wiggly triangles) - Rotate the knob to set the cooking time. - Press Ok/Jet start to start cooking. - For foods like cheese, toast, steaks or sausages place food on the wire rack. - Do not use plastic utensils when grilling as these will melt. Wood and paper are also unsuitable. * **Combi Microwave and Grill** (wiggly lines and triangle line) - This allows you to cook gratin in less time. - Press the combi button. - Rotate the knob to set the cooking time. - Press ok/jet start button. - Do not use plastic or wood or paper. * **Manual Defrost** - Press the manual defrost button (star with a drip under). - Rotate knob to set duration. - Press ok/Jet start. * **Automatic defrost** - Press auto defrost button (star with drip next to meat, poultry or fish). - Rotate knob to set the weight. - Press ok/jet start. The function will start and the duration will be automatically calculated on the basis of the selected food and weight! - After a certain time the display could ask you to turn or stir the food for a better defrost. * Auto cook functions are available for recipes in the manual. * Auto clean - See manual. Fridge/Freezer (Samsung) ------------------------ * Power Freeze - Speeds up the time needed to freeze products in the freezer. * Pressing the freezer button allows you to set the temperature of the freezer (between -14°C and -25°C) * The ice type button lets you choose cubed, crushed or turn the ice off. * By pressing the vacation button and the fridge button simultaneously for 3 seconds all buttons will be locked. The water dispenser lever and ice lever will not work either. To cancel this function press these two buttons for 3 seconds again. * Please leave the fridge at the current settings however one can press the fridge button to set the fridge temperature (between 1°C and 7°C). Insinkerator ----------- * Only use cold water. * The sound of the disposer will change when there is no more food in the grind chamber. After all food waste is ground, turn off the disposer and let water run for about 15 seconds to flush the grind chamber. Instant hot water tap -------------------- This is to the left of the sink and provides instant boiling water. Please take care with small children. Pans --- * Always match the diameter of the stainless steel disc to the induction hob cooking zone. Using a pan with disproportionate stainless steel disc size to cooking zone may result in reduced heat output. In some cases the hob may not, “recognise”, the pan and no heat will be generated. * Handles/knobs may become hot in use. Please exercise caution when handling cookware and use oven gloves where necessary. * Always lift the pan never slide it. * Use a medium to low heat for the majority of cooking. For those times when searing is required a medium to higher heat can be used initially, but once the pan is hot and the food added, the heat should be lowered. Never use the maximum heat settings. * Never plunge a hot item of cookware into cold water or place a cold item onto a hot hob. * Do not use the boost function on induction cookers. * Do not use metal or sharp utensils as they may damage the coating. * Cool the pan before cleaning. Do not plunge into or fill with cold water when hot. * Do not use metal, abrasive or stiff washing up brushes or abrasive cleaning agents. * Suitable for dishwasher. * When, “dry frying”, pre-heat the pan on a medium setting for approximately 2 minutes before adding the food and do not allow the pan to overheat. * Do not leave food in the cookware after cooking. * To avoid white marks or pitting only add salt when the contents are simmering or cooked. Once cooled do not leave any remaining food stuffs containing salt in the cookware. Silvercrest kitchen scales ------------------------- * Press the on/off button/zero button 2. The appliance switches on and the display shows “0”. * If you wish to change from metric to imperial press the mode button (3) until the required unit of measurement is shown in the display (1). * The appliance switches off automatically after around 2 minutes. * If you want to set the scale back when adding other items press the on/off button/zero button (2) and the scales will show the “0” grams and T symbol. Place the additional load on the scale, the display (1) will show the weight of the items you have added and the T symbol. * To end the tare function remove the items from the scale, press the On/Off button/zero button (2). The scales now indicate a weight of “0” and no longer the T symbol. * Wipe the scales clean with a damp cloth
